Atwood Farms is an equine boarding farm locally owned by Louisville, Kentucky, native Dr. Greg Brown, and located 20 miles northeast of Louisville in the heart of Oldham County, Kentucky horse country.
Originally built by renowned thoroughbred trainer Dravo Foley, our 300 acres of gently rolling pastures, picturesque barns, lush riding trails and natural waterfalls provide a welcoming home to horses of all breeds.
A full-care boarding facility, we offer a variety of options to meet your needs whether boarding on a monthly, seasonal, or year-round basis. Amenities include barns, secure tack rooms and more. Family and child-friendly, Atwood is ideal for boarding – and visiting – your horse as our winters are milder than in Northern states, and cooler than the Deep South and Florida.
Each of our four turnout paddocks have their own run-in shed. During late autumn and winter they enjoy paddock daylight, while at night they stay warm in a matted stall with plenty of shavings. Spring’s warmth and summer heat mean daytime stall boarding cooled by fans, with evenings spent outside amongst an abundance of shelter.
Our main barn, equipped with 23 stalls, recently underwent an extensive, state-of-the-art $500,000 renovation, and is adjacent to the home of farm co-manager Christine Robey who is on-site 24/7 to provide the ultimate care for each horse. Also at Atwood is co-manager Mark Cotler. Personally involved in the daily operation of the farm, their extensive experience – including a combined 14-year stint with American Hall of Fame trainer Carl Nafzger – along with a deep love of horses, ensure your animals are in very capable hands.
